About
Nobody can see a password, not even the administrator: PsyTrace keeps only a scrambled, one-way copy. You can only reset it or make it expire. Either way the employee must choose a new password at the next login.
| Menu item | What it does |
| Change Employee Password | Resets the password to Changeme#2026 (PsyTrace asks first). Tell the employee: they log in with it and choose a new one at once. |
| Expire Employee Password | Keeps the password but makes the employee change it at the next login. |
| Expire Passwords All Active Employees | Every active employee of your Service must change their password at the first login on or after the date you type (today or later). |
The password rule
- 12 to 64 characters;
- at least one digit;
- upper AND lower case letters;
- at least one of
# $ % ^ *;
- not the current password, nor one of the last four.
The rule applies when a password is set or changed. Existing passwords keep working until they are changed.
Never ask an employee for their password, and never write it in a note or e-mail. The audit trail records that a password was reset, never the password itself.
