Quick Start: Clinician

From a newly registered client to the first progress note

WhoClinicians
BeforeThe front desk has done the New Client Checklist

Clinicians usually do not want to be burdened with administrative work: the front desk registers the client and enters the insurance, the Episode of Care and the authorization. The clinician then needs only two things: a diagnosis, and the encounter.

  1. Open the client and the Episode

Choose the client (Active Clients list or Client › Search), click Clinician, then click the Episode in the Episodes list (it opens by itself when it is the only active one).

  2. Enter the diagnosis

Click the Diagnoses list › E/E/View Diagnoses. Type a few letters of the diagnosis (or its code), press Enter, choose it from the list, click Enter, then Save. One diagnosis is enough to start. Details: Diagnoses.

  3. Write the encounter

Click the Encounters list › New Encounter. Today's date, you as Provider, the authorization and 1 unit are already filled in. Choose the procedure (CPT), the diagnosis (if the client has more than one) and the Location, write the note, and Save. Details: Encounters.

For the next visit, Copy Encounter fills in everything from the encounter you clicked, with today's date — you change only what is different.
