PsyTrace allows for the entry of multiple procedures, as well as multiple
diagnoses and/or providers for each Encounter. A parameter controls whether a button labeled
Dx/Px/Providers appears in the encounter screen. The parameter can be
modified via the MokiTool.Exe program (ask your system administrator).
The ability to see the Dx/Px/Providers button means your system is set up
to allow for the entry of multiple diagnoses, procedures, and providers for each encounter.
To enter additional diagnoses, procedures, and/or providers proceed as follows:
-
Enter first the Diagnosis, Procedure, and/or Provider associated with the encounter, in
the main encounter screen. These entries will be considered primary,
i.e., they are the entries that will be counted in workload reports and/or included in
the insurance form(s).
-
Click the mouse over the Dx/Px/Providers button. A screen will display
two sides. The left side is the selection side, i.e., the side where all diagnoses that
are associated with the client and all procedures you are authorized to choose (per the
authorization associated with the encounter) are shown. The right side shows what you
select. Note that the screen shows the primary Provider, Diagnosis, and
Procedure for the encounter, i.e., the ones already chosen in the main encounter screen.
-
Assume a client has the diagnoses of Depression and Alcohol Abuse. Assume further that
you would like to indicate that you have provided individual therapy for both diagnoses
during the encounter and that, in addition, you provided medication management for
depression. In this case you enter the diagnosis of Depression and the procedure
“individual therapy” in the main encounter screen. In the sub-screen (after
you click over the multiple diagnoses/procedures/providers button) you first enter the
second diagnosis for the encounter with a simple click over Alcohol Abuse (which is
immediately added to the list on the right). Now you click over Depression on the left
side, i.e., you choose the depression diagnosis (Depression is highlighted on the right
side of the screen). Finally you click over Medication management and you will see that
procedure added to the list on the right, where it is clear this procedure is associated
with the Depression diagnosis and not with the Alcohol Abuse diagnosis.
-
To enter multiple providers you can simply select the additional providers, one by one,
and you will see them added to the bottom list on the right side of the screen.
-
To delete erroneously entered diagnoses, procedures, and/or providers, double-click over
the erroneous entry.
